Call for New Leadership

Members

If you are a current educator, are enrolled in a graduate program in education, or are in the student teacher section of your undergraduate studies, you may become a member of Phi Delta Kappa.

If you are a member of Chapter 15 and would like to nominate someone in education, contact the chapter Membership Coordinator Mike McDonald to receive an application form, or download an application here (requires Adobe Acrobat Reader a free program for viewing and printing files).

If you are a current educator, a graduate student in education, or a pre-service student currently involved in student teaching you can join PDK without a nomination. Please contact Mike McDonald to receive the application.

If you are a former member of Chapter 15, we are looking to bring you back into our Chapter, contact us about reactivating your membership. Those Kappans from other chapters who are living or working in the Capital area, an important part of Phi Delta Kappa is service and part of that service comes from taking an active role in PDK activities. If you would like to join a local chapter and remain in your chapter of initiation, contact us about joint membership.

There has never been a more important time to be a member of Phi Delta Kappa, join today! See PDK International, Memberships

Call for New Leadership:

The lifeblood of an organization is its membership. And I believe our membership is a sleeping giant with many capabilities, waiting to be called to service. Our membership roll carries over 400 members in good standing. That means that over 400 professional educators made the commitment to join and then maintain their membership in this chapter. Leadership in a professional organization is kind of like the best of all worlds – the exhilaration of being selected to lead by your peers; experiencing the personal and professional growth that occurs during service; the opportunity to travel and attend area, regional, and national events; and the opportunity to contribute to the growth and development of emerging leaders in the field of education.

Our members actually have two opportunities to provide leadership this year: First, we need a nominating committee to solicit and nominate interested members for offices. If you would like to serve in this capacity, please contact Loretta Sheets (wsheets@radiks.net) or 6710 Marcia Lane Lincoln, NE  68505-2456 by March 30, 2007.

Second, we are asking for self-nominated leaders. We will never thwart a member’s inclination to lead. If you would like to volunteer to serve as a leader in your organization, please contact Loretta Sheets or any of the officers if you would like to know more about the position or to serve as a leader in the UN-L Chapter of PDK.
